Exclusive – Urvashi Upadhyay: Playing Kusum in Mangal Lakshmi is her best Women’s Day gift

On the occasion of Women’s Day, actress Urvashi Upadhyay shared how playing the role of Kusum Saxena in Mangal Lakshmi has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of her career.
“For me, one of the best gifts this Women’s Day is the opportunity to play *Kusum, a positive and loving mother-in-law. Recently, a lady approached me and said she admires how Kusum sets an example for all mothers-in-law. Hearing that was such a proud moment for me,”* Urvashi shared.
She further added that her character’s warmth and kindness have resonated deeply with viewers. “A lot of people during my shoot in Gujarat have personally come to me after my shoots and told me how much they appreciate my character. It’s heartwarming to know that my role is making a positive impact.”
Urvashi believes that natural acting is what makes her characters relatable. “When acting feels natural, people connect with it on a deeper level. They start seeing the character as one of their own family members, which is the most rewarding part for me as an actor,” she explained.
Reflecting on her journey, Urvashi feels proud that her performances have managed to leave a lasting impression. “I’m really happy that people still come up to me and appreciate my work. It reassures me that I’m on the right track and delivering the right message through my characters,” she concluded.
