NEW DELHI: CCTV footage has emerged showing Sachin alias Dhillu, the prime suspect in the murder of Haryana Congress worker Himani Narwal, carrying a suitcase containing her body. The 30-year-old later confessed to the crime.
Haryana Police confirmed on Monday that Sachin, a resident of Khairpur village in Jhajjar, strangled 22-year-old Himani Narwal at her residence in Rohtak’s Vijay Nagar area using a phone charging cable.

Rohtak range additional director general of police (ADGP) Krishan Kumar Rao stated that the accused had visited Himani’s house On Feb 27, around 9 pm and stayed with her overnight.
The following day, an argument broke out between them over an undisclosed issue, eventually leading to the murder. After killing her, he packed her body in a suitcase and abandoned it near the Sampla bus stand along the highway.
“The accused came in touch with Narwal through social media one and a half years ago. He frequently used to come to her house in Rohtak for six to seven months. On Feb 27, around 9 pm, Sachin visited Himani’s house in Vijay Nagar and stayed with her overnight,” the ADGP said.
He further stated, “The next day, an argument ensued between them over an unknown issue. As tempers flared, Sachin tied Himani’s hands with her dupatta and strangled her with the cable of a mobile phone charger. Then, he stuffed her body into a suitcase along with a quilt, which had blood stains.”

After committing the crime, Sachin alias Dhillu stole valuables from Himani’s home and transported them on her scooter to his shop in Jhajjar. Later, he returned to her house to cover his tracks. On the night of February 28, he left the house carrying the suitcase containing Himani’s body.
He first boarded an auto-rickshaw from Vijay Nagar to the Delhi Bypass in Rohtak and then took a bus to Sampla, around 26 km away. After walking nearly 80 meters, he dumped the suitcase in the bushes near the Sampla bus stand.
As per the police, forensic analysis revealed bite marks and scratches on Sachin’s hands, indicating a struggle. Sources suggest that Himani fought back in self-defense, as the accused admitted that she bit him during the altercation.
Authorities are still investigating the exact motive behind the murder, with financial disputes being a possible factor.
