Karnataka govt clears 69 projects, targets 25,000 new jobs

The Karnataka government has approved 69 new projects worth ₹3,500.86 crore, aiming to generate nearly 25,000 jobs across the state.
Among the major investments, Jyoti CNC Automation Limited will invest ₹285 crore in a Machine Tool Centre in Tumkur, creating 3,394 jobs. Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages is expanding its beverage manufacturing unit with ₹249 crore, while Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Ltd. will invest ₹250 crore in a soap and detergent manufacturing plant in Vijayapura.
The approvals were granted during the 152nd State-Level Monitoring Committee (SLMC) meeting on March 28.
The approved projects span various sectors, including manufacturing, automotive, and green energy. The SLMC sanctioned 12 large projects exceeding ₹50 crore each, totaling ₹2,311.88 crore, which will generate 18,972 jobs. Additionally, 55 mid-sized projects with investments between ₹15 crore and ₹50 crore, amounting to ₹1,148.98 crore, will create 5,832 jobs. Two additional capital investment schemes worth ₹40 crore will contribute 150 more jobs.
Speaking at the meeting, Minister for Large and Medium Industries MB Patil emphasised the government’s commitment to fostering economic growth and job creation through strategic investments. Senior officials from various departments attended the meeting, including industry and labour.
